Day 5

This morning after another wonderful meal at Joe and Aggies we came back to the Globetrotter and signed the wall.

We now have adventured out on Route 66 here are a few pics of our finds.

Geronimo Trading Post

The Old Fort in Joseph City.

Howdy Hanks.

Check out Hank hanging out on the balcony.

Jack Rabbit Trading Post. Joseph City, AZ

The Jack Rabbit tried to take off on the bike.

The Big Indian.  Winslow, AZ

Finally it is here.  The day we get to stand on the corner in Winslow, AZ.

Meteor Crater
This crater was formed by a meteor that was the diameter of 1/2 of a football field. You could set the Washington monument in the center of the crater and the top of it would be level with the rim of the crater.

Our tour guide Eduardo.

Gnorbert Standing on a piece of the Meteorite.

The following pics are from the Petrified Forest/ Painted Desert.

Petroglyphics are on the rocks in the rocks below.  They are called the newspaper rocks.  If you look closely at the rocks you can see where there has been things carved into the rocks.

This is a raven hanging out in the parking lot waiting on someone to give him some food.

This is the painted desert inn. The civilian conservation corp made it into the adobe structure you see today and Fred Kobotie was hired to come in and paint murals on the walls to make it fit better into the landscape.

These windows make up skylight.  They were all hand painted by two men.
